My Favorite Thing at Each Downtown Las Vegas Casino/Hotel

I miss Vegas, so indulge me a bit. A downtown crawl, whether it be for gambling, drinks, or both, is a fun way to spend a night in Vegas. If compelled to choose, here’s the one thing I enjoy most about each casino or hotel in the Fremont St. area:

Fremont – Filament bar brings a little class to Fremont with ample opportunity for people watching

Downtown Grand – Citrus, the hotel pool is an inexpensive yet comfortable way to relax slightly away from the bustle of the Fremont Street Experience canopy

The D – The Vue bar on the second level is a great spot to play some decent video poker and watch a game

Four Queens – There’s a video poker bar just near the entrance with decent odds and a better show, watching those interesting downtown characters pass by

Golden Nugget – The pool is usually very crowded, but it gets points for having a shark tank

Binions – I don’t spend much time inside, but damn do I love the classic marquee

El Cortez – A late morning single deck $5 pitch blackjack game is just what the doctor ordered for a downtown induced hangover

Plaza – The pool is tops for me, but receptive management and good table odds and minimums would round out a top 3

California – Lappert’s ice cream on a hot day is more than just a desert, it’s a lifesaver

Golden Gate – It’s the craps—it’ll always be the craps

Main Street Station – Boar’s Head Bar is amazing, but this is one of the most welcome views in Vegas:
