In this episode I discuss my wife’s recent, food-centric Vegas trip. Here are a few of her notes:
Off the Strip (Linq)
- Great for a late night snack center strip
- Decent happy hour appetizer deals (truffle mac and cheese was “delicious”)
- Really good service at the bar
Sushi Roku – (Forum Shops)
- Best sushi she’s had in Vegas
- Attentive and trustworthy wait staff
- Great sauces on the rolls
- Expensive (gold flecks on the scallops)
Gordon Ramsay Pub – (Caesars)
- Rarely a long wait
- Lamb burger and truffle fries were fantastic
- Chopped salad was “pretty good”
- A solid backup restaurant in case other dinner plans fall through
Emeril’s Table 10 – (Grand Canal Shops)
- Great ambiance and service
- Appetizers were delicious, but small portions
- Salmon a bit dry
- Overall decent food, but may not be worth the price
The Palm – (Forum Shops)
- Check size was over $100/person
- Ahi tuna steak was overdone
- Standard steaks were good, but perhaps over priced
- There are better valued steakhouses in Vegas
Cabo Wabo – (Planet Hollywood)
- meh
Flamingo Buffet – (You know where)
- Inexpensive
- Food isn’t atrocious, but you get what you pay for
- Service consistently terrible
Fellini’s – (Stratosphere)
- Really kitchsy decor
- Service was great
- House wine was ok (1000x better than Battista’s)
- Food was really good (1000x better than Battista’s)
- Appetizers standard, nothing spectacular
- Tenderloin tips with gnocchi were really good
- Tortellini Abruzzese was delicious (best dish according to the group)
So there you have it. Oddly enough, Fellini’s won out as my wife’s favorite restaurant value wise this trip. Hope this helps expand your Vegas restaurant horizon…or something.
